The eagle is one of the mighty and elegant birds that soar high in the sky. It is known for its extraordinary ability to hunt its prey in the blink of an eye. When it pours, it is the only bird that flies above the clouds, unlike the other birds that make their way to their nests. A big heavy head and a large hooked beak are the peculiar features of the eagle. The beak helps it to rip flesh from its prey. An adult eagle’s wings are quite broad which help it to soar high. It is also renowned for battling with deadly snakes. Even the most venomous snake is nothing more than just a plaything for it. Most of the times, it makes use of its talons to rip of the snake’s organs and tear them apart.

It is celebrated for its unique and sharp eyesight. Its two large eyes take up almost half of its head. Surprisingly, an eagle’s eye weighs as much as a human eye. With such fascinating eyes, the eagle can differentiate between over five primary colours and can even detect UV light. The martial eagle, a type of eagle, has eyes twice the size of the human eye. Its eyes are believed to have visual acuity up to eight times that of humans. The sharp eyesight of the eagle allows it to spot its potential prey from a huge distance. According to studies, the reason behind their sharp eyesight is attributed to their immensely large pupils.

The eagle is an elegant bird that many admire, but from afar. A few consider it a symbol of power, freedom and elegance. Countless superstitions about eagles exist. For instance, seeing an eagle fly above your head indicates that you are on the right path. The eagle also symbolizes strength, growth, rebirth, fresh beginnings and the gracious arrival of spring. Another superstition has it that spotting an eagle after the death of a beloved means your guardian angel is by your side. Overall, people, in general, consider it to bring good vibes.

The eagle is a calm and solitary bird. It is not likely to attack humans. It minds its own business unless it suspects any danger. Should it grow suspicious, it gets furious and starts spreading fuss everywhere. However, a few species of eagles, especially the bald eagles, are notorious for attacking humans. But the injuries are not usually fatal.

The diet of the eagle includes primarily tiny birds and small fish. But, it also survives on rodents like squirrels, mammals like rabbits, reptiles like snakes and dead animals.
